About The UBC Psychology
Homepage
UBC Psychology's Homepage is the gateway to the
departments' web-based teaching and research resources serving both
public and internal audiences. For students interested in applying to
undergraduate or graduate school you will find all the necessary
programme resources beginning from the homepage. To serve our audience
better, content is updated frequently including course materials,
registration, financial support, programme, and news and events
information.
Web Browser and System Requirements
The UBC Psychology
website is optimized for both Windows and Mac OS X clients browsing with
Internet Explorer 7, Mozilla Firefox 2, Opera 9, and Safari web browsers
and video display settings of millions of colors 1024x768/1280x1024 small
or large fonts pixel resolution. Text-based web browsing is also
supported using the Lynx client. Javascript and cookies should be enabled
to use all the features of the UBC Department of Psychology website.
Using the Homepage

The website content is divided into five
content sections with heading titles: Prospective Students, Current
Students, Department, Research and Alumni. Listed below each heading
title are the related content links for the section. Web links are
colored in dark blue and when the mouse cursor is hovered over the link
the color will highlight in orange. Along the homepage's right side are
listed UBC Psychology related news and events and a link to the current
calendar of events. Towards the bottom of the UBC Department of
Psychology homepage is the Google Search engine for searching the
psych.ubc.ca domain only. An RSS feed is also available for the most up to
date news and events and frequently requested information.
General
Website Features
For undergraduate and graduate information a
printable version is available for end-users interested in a hardcopy
printout of the document. The printable version contains only text
content, no graphics and basic page formatting. A Printable Version web
link is usually provided either at the top or left-side of each webpage.
On the right side of the top webpage header is a navbar with links to
Psych webmail, an A to Z listing and information on how to contact us. The
bottom navbar contains links to information about the UBC Psych website,
privacy issues, and a visual map of the site link structure.
