About The UBC Psychology Homepage

UBC Psychology's Homepage is the gateway to the departments' web-based teaching and research resources serving both public and internal audiences. For students interested in applying to undergraduate or graduate school you will find all the necessary programme resources beginning from the homepage. To serve our audience better, content is updated frequently including course materials, registration, financial support, programme, and news and events information.

Web Browser and System Requirements

The UBC Psychology website is optimized for both Windows and Mac OS X clients browsing with Internet Explorer 7, Mozilla Firefox 2, Opera 9, and Safari web browsers and video display settings of millions of colors 1024x768/1280x1024 small or large fonts pixel resolution. Text-based web browsing is also supported using the Lynx client. Javascript and cookies should be enabled to use all the features of the UBC Department of Psychology website.

Using the Homepage (www.psych.ubc.ca)

The website content is divided into five content sections with heading titles: Prospective Students, Current Students, Department, Research and Alumni. Listed below each heading title are the related content links for the section. Web links are colored in dark blue and when the mouse cursor is hovered over the link the color will highlight in orange. Along the homepage's right side are listed UBC Psychology related news and events and a link to the current calendar of events. Towards the bottom of the UBC Department of Psychology homepage is the Google Search engine for searching the psych.ubc.ca domain only. An RSS feed is also available for the most up to date news and events and frequently requested information.

General Website Features

For undergraduate and graduate information a printable version is available for end-users interested in a hardcopy printout of the document. The printable version contains only text content, no graphics and basic page formatting. A Printable Version web link is usually provided either at the top or left-side of each webpage. On the right side of the top webpage header is a navbar with links to Psych webmail, an A to Z listing and information on how to contact us. The bottom navbar contains links to information about the UBC Psych website, privacy issues, and a visual map of the site link structure.
